ARTIST STATEMENT

About T. Sade Illustrations

My work is different in that it consists of the best of both worlds. I work with digital media and traditional media.  I see my work as a way to get creative and push my talents with different styles and techniques.  I am a storyteller so I use colorful palettes to narrate each of my works and give them life. I like for my viewers to look at my work and have a little fun while observing it.

I like to do my research when I come up with ideas for my works so I always decide on topic and then focus on how I can capture it in the best form and image. Then I start putting down the outlines and breaking my layers up to help build up my image. The real fun comes when I start to add the color, because I love to play with the textures and lighting. I like to use mix-media or to at least make it look like mix-media.

My art has two aesthetics: Slice of life and fiction. I like to work with both subjects to give off a relaxing mood and tone to my viewers. I want them to enjoy life whether its fiction or nonfiction. It is my belief that my work can bring various stories and situations together to give the viewers something to remember. A lot of the time my work shows a strong female character in these different scenarios to show my support of women empowerment and independency.

I think that my art is enjoyable to others because of how different my style is.  I create my work to function for others as a way to chronicle multiple themes and ideas.
